Chief vs Claude Duet
Claude Duet is Anthropic’s proactive agent app, in research preview since 21 October 2026. Chief is a hosted marketing lead with a team behind it. Here is how they differ, with sources.
What Claude Duet is
Claude Duet is Anthropic’s proactive agent app, announced as a research preview on 21 October 2026. It flags what needs your attention, works on tasks you assign while you are away, and checks with you before it acts for you. Anthropic built it for professionals and small business owners.
It runs as its own iOS and Android app and on claude.ai, with its own cloud computer and browser, so your phone or laptop need not stay on. It carries over your Claude memory, skills and connected apps, sends a short brief each morning and checks your connected apps every few hours. It asks before it sends a message, pays, signs a document or deletes anything.
During the preview it is included in the Pro and Max plans at no extra cost and uses the same usage limits, for US users by waitlist. Team and Enterprise plans are not included yet. Its launch examples include drafting a job post and posting it to LinkedIn once you edit and approve it, and turning a product launch into a social campaign in Canva.
Where Claude Duet is ahead
- It is a general agent across your inbox, calendar, documents and connected apps.
- It sends a morning brief and checks in on everything you connect.
- During the preview it comes with an existing Pro or Max plan at no extra cost.
- It asks before sending, paying, signing or deleting, across all of that work.
What Chief is
Chief is FeedSquad’s AI marketing lead. It plans your week, drafts posts for LinkedIn, X and Threads, and coordinates the agents on your plan. It does that one job, in five ways.
Integrated
A team stands behind Chief. Specialist agents draft each format, Handler publishes to LinkedIn, X and Threads, and Stash is the brand memory they all read. Briefings and approvals come to Telegram, and an email brief arrives on working days.
Inside your brand rules
Drafts start from Stash: your voice and facts, each marked approved or blocked. Your “never again” rules carry into every plan. Proactive pings stop at 5 a working day and arrive only in your working hours.
Approval first
Nothing publishes until you approve it, and your edit is the text that ships.
Marketing flows only
A weekly plan with its reasons, the posts per channel that carry it out, and results that feed the next plan. Chief is not a general-purpose assistant.
No setup
Chief is hosted. Sign up and connect your channels. There are no servers, API keys, skills or hosting to manage.
