Use Chief on Telegram
Connect once and Chief brings your approvals and urgent pings to Telegram. You approve with one tap, or reply to tell Chief what to change. It takes about a minute. WhatsApp isn't available yet.
Before you start
- A FeedSquad account with Chief.
- Telegram, on your phone or computer. Telegram Web works too if you are signed in there.
Connect Telegram

Install Telegram
Get the Telegram app on your phone or computer and sign in. Telegram Web works too.

Press Connect Telegram
In FeedSquad, open Chief → Settings. On the Telegram card, press Connect Telegram. The button changes to Open Telegram →. This link is yours alone, works once, and lasts 24 hours.

Open the bot and press Start
Press Open Telegram →. It opens Chief's bot, @feedsquad_chief_bot. Press Start. No Telegram app on this computer? Use Open in Telegram Web, under the button, instead.

Check it says Linked
The bot replies "Linked." Back in Chief → Settings, the Telegram card now says Linked as @your-telegram-name (or just Linked, if you have no Telegram username). It updates by itself within a few seconds.
What Chief sends you there
Posts and replies to approve
Each draft arrives in full as a card with Approve, Reject and Open in app buttons. Approving there is the same as approving in FeedSquad. Cards don't arrive at night (21:00–7:00). If you reject one without a reason, Chief asks what was wrong.
Your weekly plan
When Chief has drafted your week (Sunday evening, or Monday morning at the latest), you get the briefing in Telegram. The same briefing also arrives by email.
Pings that cannot wait
Only inside Chief's working hours (on weekdays, 7:00–18:00) and never more than 5 a day.
Hours are in the time zone on your Chief account. The Monday memo still comes by email.
What you can do there
- Tap Approve or Reject on a card.
- Reply to ask for changes ("make it shorter", "drop the last line"). Chief updates the same draft and sends you the new version to approve.
- Write to Chief any time with a question or an idea. Chief answers in the chat.
Nothing publishes without your approval
Telegram is another place to say yes or no. It does not change what needs your approval: every post and reply waits for your Approve, in Telegram or in FeedSquad. Rejecting or ignoring a card never publishes anything.
What Telegram sees
- The messages Chief sends you and the messages you send back go through Telegram. That includes draft posts and plan summaries. Bot chats in Telegram are not end-to-end encrypted.
- To know where to send messages, FeedSquad stores your Telegram user ID, chat ID and username. We do not see your other Telegram chats or contacts.
- Only the Telegram account that pressed Start is linked. Messages from anyone else get a reply asking them to connect their own account, and the bot does nothing for them.

Disconnect
In Chief → Settings, press Disconnect on the Telegram card. Chief stops messaging you on Telegram right away and goes back to email. Blocking or muting the bot in Telegram does not disconnect it, so use Disconnect. Your chat history stays in Telegram until you delete the chat there. You can connect again any time with a fresh link.
If something does not work
The bot says the link is invalid or was already used.
Each link works once and lasts 24 hours. Go back to Chief → Settings, press Connect Telegram again for a fresh link, then press Start.
Telegram opened, but nothing happened when I pressed Start.
Make sure you opened the link from the Open Telegram → button, not by searching for the bot. Searching opens the bot without your link, and the bot can only tell you how to connect.
The page says "address is invalid" or nothing opens.
The Telegram app is not installed on this device. Use Open in Telegram Web under the button, or install the app and press Open Telegram → again.
I pressed Start but the card still says Connect.
Reload the settings page. If it still does not say Linked, press Connect Telegram again and use the new link.
I do not see Connect Telegram in Chief → Settings.
Then Telegram isn't available on your account yet. Write to us.
Questions
Does Chief work on WhatsApp?
No. WhatsApp isn't available yet. Use Telegram, or approve in FeedSquad and by email.
Will Chief message me at night or at weekends?
Not at night: nothing is sent from 21:00 to 7:00. Pings come only on weekdays, 7:00–18:00. A post waiting for your approval can arrive in the daytime at a weekend. If you write to Chief, it answers whenever you write.
Can I link more than one Telegram account?
No. One FeedSquad account links to one Telegram account. Connecting a new one replaces the old link.
Do I have to use Telegram?
No. Every post and reply waiting for you is also in FeedSquad, and Chief keeps emailing you if you never connect.
